LiveJournal Cut

How to put stuff behind a cut

LJ-Cut is something that lets you hide part of your entry behind a link. You can see examples on my LJ, here. I use LJ-Cuts to put icons behind them, so on my LJ you'll see a description of the entry, (eg. how many icons), and then there'll be a link which leads to a page with the whole entry on. Here's how you do it.

The Steps

There are two ways of using a cut, depending on what type of entry editor you're using.

I'll go through both.

Rich Text Editor

1. Write your LJ entry.
2. Once you're done, highlight the text or whatever part you want to hide and press the button. It looks like this:

3. When you click the "LiveJournal Cut" button a box will pop saying Cut link text?. Where it says Read more..., you can put whatever you want. (That will be the link that leads to the hidden part of your entry).

4. Then just press ok, and that's it, you've just made a cut using Rich Text. =]

HTML Editor

1. Write the part of your entry you don't want to hide, the part that will be showing on your LJ.
2. Then use this code:

3. Take out the *stars* from the code!! Or it won't work.
